Locksmith answering service and AI receptionist
Someone locked out in the cold calls one number after another until a person answers. The agent answers right away, takes the address and gets you on the way.
Calls the agent handles for you
Home and car lockouts
Asks where the caller is, whether it is a home, car or business, and whether anyone is in danger, then sends the call to you.
Urgent situations
A child or pet locked in a car goes to 911 first, by the rule you approve, and you get alerted at the same time.
Price questions
Gives the call-out and price ranges you approve, or says the locksmith will confirm the price before starting.
Rekeys and lock changes
Books rekeys after a move, smart lock installs and lock changes into your schedule.
Commercial work
Takes the details for master key systems, access control and business lockouts.
Proof of ownership
Reminds the caller to have ID ready that shows they live at the address, if that is your rule.
What a call sounds like
An example of how the agent handles a typical call, and the text you get right after it.
- AgentThanks for calling Keystone Lock. How can I help?
- CallerI'm locked out of my apartment. My keys are inside.
- AgentOkay, let us get you in. What is the address, and will you have ID that shows you live there?
- Caller88 Queen Street East, unit 1204. My licence has the address.
- AgentThank you. I am sending a locksmith now. They will confirm the price before they start, and you will get a text when they are close.
Why locksmiths lose lockout calls
Lockouts happen late at night, in bad weather and when you are already on another job. The caller is stressed and will not leave a voicemail. They call the next number.
The agent answers on the first ring, gives your price range, takes the exact address and sends the job to you, so you only drive to confirmed calls.
We set it up at your business and stay until it works
You do not configure anything. We do the setup work with you and keep adjusting until you are happy with how it handles calls.
We come to you
In Toronto and the GTA we visit your office, shop or yard. Elsewhere in Canada we do the same session over a video call. We learn your services, prices, service area, hours and how you like jobs booked.
We write the call script
What to say, which questions to ask, what counts as an emergency, who gets the transfer and what the agent must never promise. You read it and approve it.
We test it together
You and your team call the agent and try to trip it up. We fix every answer you do not like before a single customer hears it.
You go live with your number
You keep your phone number. Calls you do not answer, or all calls after hours, forward to the agent.
We tune it for the first weeks
We review real calls, tighten answers and add the questions customers actually ask, until the results are where you want them.
Questions locksmiths ask about AI receptionists
Short answers to what owners in your line of work usually want to know.
Can an AI receptionist handle lockout calls?
Yes. It asks for the address, the type of lock out (home, car or business), whether anyone is in danger, and sends the job to you or the locksmith on call.
Does it work for 24/7 locksmith services?
Yes. It answers at any hour, so the caller does not move on to the next locksmith in the search results while you are on another job.
Can it book rekeying and lock installs?
Yes. Planned work goes into the time slots you allow, and you get a text with the details.
Can it replace a locksmith dispatch service?
For the phone part, yes: it answers, collects the job details and texts them to you or the locksmith on call. It does not track vans or assign jobs on a map, so you or your dispatcher still decide who goes.
Can it quote prices?
It can give the price ranges you approve, for example a starting price for an after-hours lockout. It never makes up a price.
How much does an answering service for locksmiths cost?
A human answering service usually bills per minute or per call, so a busy month costs more. Our AI receptionist is from $150 a month plus one-time setup from $299, in CAD, and setup is free for our first 10 businesses. The monthly price depends on how many calls the agent takes. See pricing.
Is an answering service worth it for locksmiths?
Compare the monthly price with what one booked lockout or lock job is worth to you. If you miss several calls a week, catching one or two of them usually covers the cost. If you almost never miss a call, you probably do not need one. The 1-minute quiz checks this for your business.
AI receptionist or live answering service: which is better for locksmiths?
A classic answering service usually takes a message and you call back. The AI receptionist answers every call at once, follows the script you approved, books into your calendar and sends urgent calls to your phone by your rules. A human service can still suit you better if most calls need judgement a script cannot cover, or callers mostly speak a language other than English. Full comparison.
What should locksmiths look for in an answering service?
Four things: it answers every call at once, including nights and weekends; it books into your calendar instead of only taking a message; it sends emergencies to your phone by your rules; and you know how the price changes in a busy month. Ask for a test call before you sign. More in how to choose.
More questions
What happens with an emergency call?
You set the rules with us, for example no heat in winter, water coming through the ceiling or a death at home. Those calls go straight to your cell or the on-call person, and you still get the written summary.
Do I need a new phone number?
No. You keep your number. We forward the calls you choose to the agent: missed calls, after-hours calls or all calls.
Will callers know they are talking to an AI?
The voice is natural and most callers simply get their problem solved. We still recommend the agent says it is an automated assistant if asked, and it can hand the call to a person whenever the caller wants one.
